Default Tech inspector qualifications

What qualifications do you think a tech inspector should have to get the job. Also what do you think the responsibilities should be.
Just curious and need your input.
Thanks

Pass the requirements for the sanctioning body.

Thumbs up Re: Tech inspector qualifications

1st you must love the sport
2nd you got to be a good listener
3rd you got to keep your cool (that is one of the hardest to do at times)
4th you will find out you cannot please everyone
5th you will learn to watch the rules being bent without breaking them
6th you must have common sense
7th you do # 2 and you will learn a lot
8th you cannot show "NO" favoritism to no one
9th you must be honest
10th learn to be patient with racers

not necessarily in this order. i am sure there are more ,but this has worked for me for over 12 years

Almost without a doubt the NHRA/IHRA local tech people I've had contact with are the very best at what they do.Our biggest problems come from the entrenched higher ups who prostituted themselves to manufacturers/factories/sponsors without any thought for the racers affected by their selfish possible personal gains.

54 more to go.
