Default 1983/84 GT Turbo stocker build

This is our 1984 GT turbo stocker build.. It started as a dime rocket but was an original SVO and we didnt really give it a chance with the stick.. .. Now we are going with the GT Turbo for the auto .. Should be interesting to see if what it will run when we get it going..

The stick deal requires a lot of gear and/or transmission to wind it up. Mark Walton had a killer 83 stick turbo, but it did not happen overnight. What were you using for a trans and clutch in J/S? The SVO deal is way over factored which is sad, cool cars. The intercooler does not help it that much on the power difference between intercooled vs non-intercooled. What gear do you have for the rear? You should be able to get the car down to the min weight too, it just takes planning and fabricating to get there.

Cool stuff!!

We used a t5 that I worked on.. It seemed fine at 6500 rpm but it was noisey getting it in gear and around the pits.. It had issues keeping boost up after you let go of the clutch.. I had installed an aluminum flywheel and that might have been the problem.. I have all the SVO stuff so I want to try it again.

You are correct the inter cooler doesn't help that much but it is way over factored.. It will be tough to run 11.40's at 2930 pounds .. Now it can go from 2560 to a little over 3000 pounds and N - Q depending on year.. So it makes a lot of sense.. We have a worn out engine right now.. And a bone stock 120,000 mile turbo.. Won't have our rebuilt one for another month or two.. $$$$
