Default Good News on Indexes

Okay, start with this thought THEY EXIST.
For all you who started racing BEFORE they were developed, take a deep breath and say AMEN. For those who ran off records set at downhill, undersea level conditions the Index system is NOT BROKEN. It beats the hell out of running off bogus records in the midwest heat and humidity. When I started most people around the mid west ran eliminations .6 to .8 OVER the records and thats weekly.
They are for a place to START to race at points meets and Eliminator. Then you dial in like a regular BRACKET race allows. No problem.
Factoring is just fine where it is unless someone wants to have heads up class racing. Then a trigger would help to adjust the ratings. Input from engine builders or experienced people on HP would help but.... NHRA owns the "ball" Racers will play by their rules at this time.
Bottom line is be very thankful the Index system exists.....
Now realize thrashing each other is neither helpful or constructive. Everyone is in this together and thats why the committee exists to do their best...Thank them for their efforts and I dont think a public statement has come from the Committee on the rules.
