Re: Gatornationals
[QUOTE=Bernie Cunningham;580102]While I believe this years Gators are "SPECIAL", I'll say something again that I've said before that could be done for every National, dumbass NHRA ---- accept 80+ entries and qualify for a 64 car field! Win Win Win !![/QUOTE
Just an idea! What NHRA could have done is having 120 car entry field and to get the race done quicker, have 1st, 2nd and or 3rd random pairings with no heads up till the ladder. This would speed up the race, get revenue from entries and people couldn't play the qualifying ladder game. Casey Miles Stock |

Re: Gatornationals
Its been over 20 years since I spectated at the Gatornationals, but at that time they held Class eliminations for Stock and S/S, and had 128 car fields for both classes, and there were more cars than that in each class. Now I guess only Indy has 128 car fields?

Re: Gatornationals
Even if they opened up the field to 80 or 120.
The whining would continue Bottom line you better get grade points Nhra National EVENTS are a privilege or Reward those who race divisionals Jim great point on the non racers stoking the fire of Hate Always the same people whining with no skin in the game If it wasn’t for Class racer these people have nothing Class at divisionals No extra charge. Would make most racers Happy We as racers should push for this through our divisions

Re: Gatornationals
This is so simple. For these major specialty events just add a day. That would give you the time for class and qualifying on the first day and then they could go back to the new normal three day National Event schedule. If you don’t want to race for class you should be able to show up at the normal time and just run the race thus not requiring any additional days off for anyone unless they choose to race for class. If you went with one qualifying run on Friday and then first round You should be able to increase the quotas some with this format. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA
