If you are using a delay box can't you leave off your opponent's top/ first bulb?

Hi Michael in Australia tree is blocked no crossing over you cant
see the other guys top or any bulb ,some tracks even show
reaction times on the finish line board makes it hard to play
games if your light is not as good as theirs.
Does any one have any ideas.
cheers.

best thing to do if this is the case, go off your bottom bulb. use a small amount of delay if you have to.

or, if you are good at finish line, dial slower then them, hit top bulb. bang! instant sand bagger! LMAO....

most, but not all tracks here use the Cross Talk feature. With that, it doesn't matter if your opponents tree is blocked or not, your top light will flash on at the same time as his does and it hang there lit up on your side until the proper time for it to start to count down depending on the ET difference of the two cars. In this case you would put in two setting in your delay box; First, your ET and your oppontent's ET, and secondly your delay, and go off your top bulb. The delay box calculates the difference between dials plus adds your delay setting.
If you don't have Cross Talk, and his tree is blocked, your tree will just count down at the appropriate time, then all you need to do is just put in your delay setting and go off the first flash of your top bulb. (do not put in the ET's, leave them at 0.) Using this method, you could use this same process, it doesn't matter whether you are the slower or faster car, cause you are not calculating any ET difference, only the delay from top bulb to green.

I would suggest spending more time on a practice tree. Top bulb, practice, practice, practice..... Every night you can before you go to bed or maybe at lunch break, etc. 10 minutes or more every day you can... Before long you should see improvements...

don't dial the same, let him leave last, if he is top bulbing, he may have same issue.
OK, more info, i know exactly what you mean. early in the season we have some gamblers racing. they block tree and don't use cross talk (to even things out for foot brake vs delay). i agree, after leaving first or with cross talk, or even during time trials you get used to about a second from both staged to before your top bulb comes on. if it doesn't then it will affect your reactions. i found leaving first every time gave me a huge advantage. my lights stayed same as time trials, opponents (top bulbers) were missing tree badly. i used a t-stop and dialed a pre-determined slow time. going into the finals i had the bye run. watched the two cars race, one was a 7 sec dragster the other a 11 sec car. the 11 sec car won. i took the other lane for my bye (in case i lost the choice to him) slowed my car to a 13 sec pass. in the finals he was way late, mainly because he had been the slower car all day, till then!
p.s. to those top bulbers responding without running on a tree like this, you have no idea what he is talking about. remember this is why we had crossover, and now have cross talk...
