Default 93 to 97 F Body Hoods

Can someone tell me if there was a difference between the WS6 hood on a Firebird Formula and the Firehawk? In particular, years 93 to 97. And, what does NHRA allow?

The differences are minor and cosmetic in nature. I have one of each. There was a slight change in the contour just in front of the openings of the scoop on the WS6 hood. Bruce Bachelder told me that Tech makes no distinction between the two.

Chuck,
Thanks for the info! Do you know of another source for a hood other than GM, SLP, E-Bay, or salvage yards? Will NHRA accept any of the hoods made by aftermarket producers? Don't want to sell one of yours do you?

Chuck, I was wondering how you got ahold of a Firehawk hood. Those hoods are only supposed to be sold to owners of original Firehawk's.

Thanks
Clay

Clay,

I guess that explains it then. My driver is a '95 Firehawk. I have the original hood on that car but it would never be considered as fodder for the racer. The S/S car has a factory WS6 hood.

Clay, if you had the serial number off of a Firehawk and was in good standing with a dealership, they could get you one,,,,,if your car was wrecked. lol

Woodro, That would work but there is a 3000 dollar core charge on the hood if you don't send the original back. Plus the hood cost around 2000 to begin with. That's one high dollar hood!

Chuck, well nice to meet a fellow Firehawk owner. I have a 2002 Firehawk. That's why I asked about the hood. Don't want clones floating around out there!
