Halloween Classic @ Stingray
Really looking forward to racing again. been out of commission due to youth football. Got a bowl game Nov 10 and it's free sailing after that.
This race should be fun with all the demented people I know being Halloween and stuff. Anyone got any plans on what is going on for the event. I know that there is three races in two days and maybe more with the brackets. Anyone got any plans, give me a call, lets have some fun. There is Friday night, Saturday and Sunday Ron Ortiz U/SA not affiliated with any non fun activities.

Re: Halloween Classic @ Stingray
Just watch. I bet everybody comes dressed up as a race car driver!
I think Fri. is T&T. SSSSA race Sat. evening. What bothers me is that it's one week before the race and no mention of it on the IHRA site! They need to promote it in addition to what Jim Wahl has been doing here and what's on the Lakeland site. Weather looks nice so far with temps around 80* & very low chance of rain. |

Re: Halloween Classic @ Stingray
Myron, I will not be dressed up as a race car driver. I am going to impersonate a human being who likes to party, might even dress up in something with a Halloween flair.
Can't wait to see all of you racers and what you are going to wear. Is anyone planning on anything with entertainment value. I do not want to be the only one having fun this weekend, what's going on out there. Ron Ortiz U/SA rumor has _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ is showing up as a slice of pizza.

Re: Halloween Classic @ Stingray
Jim and I have decided to have a hot dog/ hamburger BBQ for the racers. We will need some help due to the fact that I will be racing the ProAms and he will be the Division Director. We will need another grill and a grillmaster or two to help set up and cook. Also if anyone wants to bring deserts or anything else to share that would be great. Condiments, utensils, chips etc. will be provided. I will have water as usual so bring your own drinks. We would like to do this towards the end of the first ProAm on Saturday. Remember our SSSSA race will start soon after the end of the ProAm. Comments are welcome. Jim

Re: Halloween Classic @ Stingray
Myron, IHRA sent out an e-mail blast to every member that had an address. This is not an IHRA sanctioned pro-am meet, therefore it is put on by the track. The only way that the pro-am classes could be contested is if the IHRA personnel run the race. That is why it is not on the website. It is not a pro-am race, just the classes.IHRA has no obligation or connection to this race other than the track is paying us to run it for them. I hope this clears things up.

Re: Halloween Classic @ Stingray
Thanks Jim. I thought someone said it would be advertised in DRM and that it could be a "test" for a possible regular special event like NHRA has for sportsman: Sportsnationals, Turkey Trots, etc. But either way, I hope there is a good turnout and helps IHRA develop a bigger racer base. Hope it can be on the list for a 2015 ProAm event with a possible "Florida Division".
