Loosing a race track
Spoke with the ownner of Tulsa Raceway Park yesterday, and learned the last race willl be the 24th of this month. He has been loosing money, and pulled the plug. It's "under contract", and he doesn't know if the new ownners will lease it as a race track, or? Sad deal, but it's just business. Can't expect a man to keep loosing that kind of money.

Re: Loosing a race track
Went to the D4 points meet there in June, glad I did, bucket list thingy. I went as spectator to the 1968 Finals: Jenkins, Strickler, Smothers Bros Oldsmobiles.....certainly remembered the Interstate and airport, brought back some good memories

Ironically they were just featured on the Dallas Nationals sportsman race on ESPN 2.

Re: Loosing a race track
This is sad news. Some of my fondest memories are from that track. From watching George Cureton and Dave Boertman win world championships in the 60's to the IHRA national events and the NHRA points meets over the past few years. Hopefully, we can make the last race on the 24th.
