Exclamation OSW Night Of Fire A DOUBLE Points Race!

It's official! The Night Of Fire race at Orlando Speed World on November 21 & 22, 2015 will be a DOUBLE SSSSA Points Race! Last year Ozzy put up at great payout and has agreed to do the same this year due to the fantastic turn out and interest we showed. Lets see if we can do even better this year. The combo of the OSW's large payout, double points and a great show should be a big attraction to SSSSA racers. Also, first round runner ups in the S/SS combo will be allowed to buy back into the Pro E.T. race second round. Bring the family and join the show!

Exclamation Re: OSW Night Of Fire A DOUBLE Points Race!

The S/SS combo race at the Night of Fire is on the 21st & 22nd of November. Entry fee will be $75 car and driver. Crew is $25. Payout will be $1000 to win, $600 RU and paying back 8 places. (See link to flyer). All Southern Stock/Super Stock Association rules and regulations apply. Scales will be open and used at this race for cars with minimum weights. First round will be random pairing with the bye (if needed) decided by the draw. Front to rear or side by side will be decided by a coin flip at the head of staging before first round is run but after all participants are in line. Second round will be laddered as by NHRA/IHRA rules. This race is open to all legal NHRA, IHRA and NMCA and NSS cars. Remember this will be a double points race and you must be an SSSSA member. You may join in tech if you are not currently a member.
When I get the full schedule and payout I will post more info.

Exclamation Re: OSW Night Of Fire A DOUBLE Points Race!

1. We will try to pit all of the S/SS car together. Everyone needs to help with this.
2. We will run the first round by number draw at drivers meeting. The reason is it is very difficult to put NHRA, IHRA, and NMCA cars on a ladder using the qualifying method. Second round will be laddered.
3. We will line up in the staging lanes front to rear (one behind the other). You will have plenty of time to make dial in and lane adjustments before you run. Get with the guy you are running and get in line! We have done this now for the last two years without any problems after the first race where we tried it. The problem it alleviates is drivers sitting back and waiting for that first round "duck" and picking who you race.
4. The scales will be open and drivers will be able to weigh their cars if they like. As per the rules, if you are ever checked during competition and are not legal, as anywhere else you race class, you are out. You do NOT have to go across the scales unless you are told to.

Here is a link to the payout from last year. Ozzy says everything will be the same. We had 30 cars last year! Lets better that number this year!

Question Re: OSW Night Of Fire A DOUBLE Points Race!

Last year Tim Takash's beautiful HEMI Dodge beat George Walker's small block Volare in the final. Tim was dead on and George was .02 under. I wonder if they will both be back? Jim

Question Re: OSW Night Of Fire A DOUBLE Points Race!

The offer is appreciated, but shouldn't, or at least couldn't, the 1st round runner-ups in Stock/Super Stock have Pro ET (No Box) as an option to buy back into for 2nd round?

That's what we did last year. (See the flyer). It will be the same this year. Jim
