Default EV Powered Trailers

Hello ALL:
Have been talking to EVDrive in California to build an Enclosed or Open Car Trailer with Electric Motor and Batteries and Solar Cells.

www.evdrive.com

Here is one of their new Products
http://vimeo.com/68397135

Intent is to improve fuel mileage and reduce need for a Generator at the track.
The extra EV power will reduce wear and tear on the Tow Vehicle.

At the track or even Towing during the day there is enough surface area on a Trailer for Solar Cells to generate up to 2-5KW of power.

Need help where to look for Federal and State Laws/Rules that may impact getting this program started.

This is an investment and the first one will not be cheap.
If we can get enough of them built the cost will drop dramatically.

Thanks for your help.

Dan

Are you talking about using the trailer wheels as extra drive wheels?

Yes...Correct...
One of the Axles will power the Trailer and an Electrical Brake.
The second axle will have a hydraulic electrically activated brake.
Lot of advantages.
