Frank Ham and his "Glass Slipper". He had a Super Stock Corvette later on, not sure if it was the same car.

OK.......

I found an old pic of the "GO ARMY" 55 Chevy taken in the mid to late 70's at YORK dragway by my friend Bill Truby.

I was told that the driver was non other than "FRANKLIN" HAMM. (not the same frank ham that drove the stocker).
I believe I verified the car number in an old "entry list".

I could be wrong... i'm just adding to the story.

Sound right to me, the car has a division 4 number.

Someone told me to check this out. I don't mean to just drag up old threads, but it is cool to see.
I am the frank ham (also franklin hamm) that ran the Go Army teams and later the Glass Slipper stock & SS Vets. The Army team actually first ran two new (74) Dodges and then changed over to the old classic chevys (there was a 69 chevelle wagon on the team with the 55).
I was actually a Capt then, fresh back from a tour as a Combat Engineer Company Commander in Vietnam.
When other officers were out playing golf, I was building and racing drag cars...for over 20 years. It was a pretty good joint career.

Welcome to the forum,, Frank. Sounds like you raced quite a bit after your service(thanks for that) was done. If you have any photos from those days,, you may want to post them in the nostalgia section, like many of us have. Its always great to check out what pics people have been sitting on all these years. Take care and thanks for chiming in.

There is a way to fix some of the dumping in Stock Eliminator, take out all the clocks execpt starting to finishing line. No reaction, 60', 330', 1000' times. Make it back like it was in the 70's.
Another part is all the professionals in the racing industry, I don't what to take jobs away from them but I (this is just personal) enjoy working on my own efforts. I think I'm one of the few who still does their dyno work at the track making passes rather then an engine builder giving them a new improved bullet. I'm not fast, but I can say that I enjoy what I do and how I do it.

Casey, you made some great points, but too late to turn back...what's done is done!

Sadly, Stock Eliminator was once considered an "entry-level" thing...a place to
learn "fine-tuning" with a production/showroom vehicle with mostly STOCK parts and
keep it affordable...

A stepping-stone to bigger things down the road...(higher classes).

Not anymore!

Ya know, it's a mind set kinda thing. If you tell people that they need a $125K car to compete then why should they try? Instead of telling people what they can't do, why not show them what they CAN do.
