Where to stay for Indy D3 race
Anyone know of any decent 3 star and up hotels with pools, reasonably priced near a ton of restaurants and within 10-15 miles from the strip? Preferably between the track and downtown Indy.
Thanks Manny

While I don't think its a 3 star hotel, but we have stayed at the Super 8 in Avon. It is quite nice with a pool and a restaurant across the parking lot or a lot of other chain type restaurant on Rockville Rd.

My best bet would be the Holiday Inn Express in Brownsburg. Its not between the track and downtown but but easy to get to and there are a couple of restaurants close.

Last two times I raced the US Nat'ls (2003-04), I stayed at the Super 8 in Brownsburg. About 5 minutes or so from the track. Beside a Walmart and a Bob Evans, and a Steak and Shake up the road. In '02, I think I was at the Super 8 in Avon.

Do they have shower/bath facilities open to the racers at Indy?

Re: Where to stay for Indy D3 race
Is the College Park Business District Super 8 (13 miles northwest of downtown) a decent area to be in?
It's about 11 miles from the track for $47 a night

College park is a real nice are hotel/motel wise--- I always stay up there for both the Div and the US natl races for the last 10 years---Not a bad neighborhood too---watch your speed on the expressways around there tho lotsa speed traps there especially outa state cars----A few good restaurants there too---get off and go the backway coming south to the track save about 15 min and not as much traffic either---Comp 387

That area is fine..... We have stayed at the Drury Inn (next to the nw Super 8) for several years now. They are pretty reasonable, very clean, pool, happy hour in lobby - free soda and popcorn), nice area. Tom Sheehan
