Default Autometer Customer for life

With all of the stuff about sub par customer service from race parts manufacturers. I figured I would brag on one for a change. I have a older Auto Meter playback tach that I sent in to have it checked out and repaired last week. Just got a email this morning with a estimate that says it cant be repaired but they would like to replace it with a current model. At a FRACTION of what a new one costs from Jegs or Summit. So I called to verify with them what I was reading. Not only is the email pricing correct. But the old one was black faced and they are willing to let me switch to a silver face at no additional cost (about 25 dollars higher for some reason at the mail order places). And I will have my new one " TOMORROW in case I need it to go racing this weekend" That is way beyond what I would expect with a older product needing repair.

Rob,

I had a gauge in need of repair. Sent an e-mail to them and promptly got an e-mail from Cory. Must have sent his four different e-mails with questions and he quickly replied to each e-mail/questions. I agree with you that THIS is good customer service.

A few years back I bought a Autometer play back tach used, packaged it up
and mailed to them to recalibrated it and replace a switch .

They recalibrated it, replaced the switch and replaced the wiring and shipped
it back to me for something like $35.

I sent them a nice thank you email and got a reply back that they do not get too
many thankyou's just complaints.

AutoMeter is all I've ever bought. Love the Ultimate Playback tachs (even got one for Johnny Fisher's car after driving it in '08), and when I was a kid, it seems like every Christmas either Dad or I would be getting the other an AutoMeter Monster Tach for some new project. Great products, great company.

Cory just wanted to brag that he had an e-mail exchange with NASA.

Similar deal for me, I had a shop fire and lost my car. The engine was OK but the MSD billet distributor was badly damaged. I called MSD and they told me to send it in for rapairs. I sent the distributor in and about a week later I got it back, opened the box and it was a NEW unit. Cost me something like $50.00. I did not even have to pay shipping back to my shop.. I gave tech at MSD a call, all they would say was that it was going to take too much to repair my unit.. WOW this kind of service is uncommon and GREAT..

Good to hear that. I had a dual channel playback tach a couple years ago that was acting strange. They told me to send it back and I received one back new in the box about a week later!

One more fan for Auto Meter here! Just recently I bought a used tach that had the ground wire pulled out of the circuit board. I sent it in with the explanation.

A couple of weeks later I got it back with prepaid shipping and it had ALL new wires (the ones I sent it with were pretty short) and...the scratched bezel was replaced that I didn't even ask them to replace. No charge.
