Default Thank You

NHRA, Lucas Oil, Contingency sponsors, Division Directors, their staff... all the men and women that work these events, track owners, managers and their staffs, EMS personal, the fuel and tire companies that support these events and the communities that welcome us when in town supporting these events. Ignore the vocal minority, that complain for the sake of complaining, that think they are special, that want these events and rules changed to favor them, that think these events should revolve around them and their class, some who haven't supported these events in many years.

We the silent majority appreciate your efforts and want you to know they don't go unnoticed.

Signed

The NHRA Sportsman Racer

I've had nothing but good experiences with our limited involvement. I also feel these events are the safest places to race. Our D2 crew have been great to my whole family.

Cool Re: Thank You

That's true. It needs to be mentioned. I've had good treatment everywhere we've raced in the last 35 years. I appreciate it.

thanks to those that have showed their support for the NHRA's Sportsman Racing Program. Speak up, keep the likes coming. I will be forwarding this thread to Glendora as well every division director and Lucas Oil at a minimum.

I would suggest that any NHRA Sportsman racer reading this thread and not liking it, should seriously consider quiting.

Funny thing I've visited the winners circle a few times this past season, been around all the winners in every class including stock and all I saw was smiles, high fives, tears of joy, hugs and hand shacks. What I didn't see is one grumpy old man, complaining about the NHRA or the health of sportsman racing.

Dennis, without question and perhaps therein is the root issue with those here that are complaining and questioning the health of what we do...they haven't enjoyed that happy place in a long time if ever. One win can instantly change one's perspective. I remember the SG winner this past year at Numidia. IIRC, it was his first win after 30 something years. He was a very happy old guy.

Come on Dennis, Like the thread.

I agree with much that you have said lately, Ed, using your typical way with words.

However, it is possible to be happy about your win and still have valid concerns about the sport and/or series.

Sometimes the Emporer does forget his clothes....just saying. I always thank officials, lane workers, track employees, the registration trailer personnel, and others. I especially make input to and thank my SRAC representative. And I’m thankful that the NHRA provides sanctioning, infrastructure, and a set of rules by which we can race on a relatively level playing field and in a safe environment. I’m sure my gratitude is shared by the vast majority of members. Furthermore, my gratitude will be measured by my words and actions at those events I attend, not my “likes” on a public forum. But they are like any bureaucracy, they can never be perfect and they can never be deaf to input from those they represent. Any worthy organization that ignores input will suffer the same status as government, religious and other institutions that seem to exist solely for their own benefit rather than those they represent. Even from the fractious and boisterous minority comes good ideas. Families, communities and organizations that thrive recognize that.

Gee Billy, thanks for the “like”...I recant all the mutterings (non-posted but definitely sincere) about that pesky LD340 thread.

sure it is. Waiting for some active racer regardless of class, to state their specific concerns and how it effects them.
