Default A Note to ASRA Participants

All ASRA Participants,

The BOD has some concerns with the amount of participants that have crossed the scales right at their respective weight minimums. We do scale cars during time trials and will randomly check during eliminations and of course will check during heads up runs. Please keep this in mind because you will get DQ'ed if you come up even 5 lbs light at the scales during eliminations.

With regards to class designations, please try to have letters clearly visible on all 4 windows as defined by NHRA. We want to avoid confusion in the staging lanes as to what classes cars are in. We understand that sometimes shoe polish is all that is available but we don't have specific tower support with class designation on tech cards so we have to rely on clear class labels on cars. Class designation needs to be identified prior to the first time trial and cannot be changed after that. Class can be changed from day to day and more specifics can be found in the ASRA bylaws.

Lastly, the BOD does it's best to maintain the integrity of class racing and we expect all participants to do the same. We don't actively police all combinations and respective classifications and thus rely on the honesty of racers to help with policing our sport. If there are ever any concerns with the classification of one of our participants, please bring it to the attention of the BOD so it can be investigated further. We fully recognize there may be honest mistakes of placing a car in the wrong class or claiming an inappropriate year combination but we want to do our best to follow rules set forth by NHRA and IHRA for stock and super stock racing.

We appreciate the support of all racers on these matters and look forward to our next double header event in July at New England Dragway.

Thanks!
