There is only one Steve Wann.

I remember him wandering
about the pits when he probably was
around 13 telling everyone how he was
kick our butts.

AND sure enough for the last 30 +years.....He certainly has
done that!!

Do the math.
No, I know a certain A/S that ran 136 @ Pomona (1000) feet, it didn't make close to 700 HP. What helps a 375/396 is how it carries the power past peak, average HP.

HP factor; 405 with aluminum heads
8.5 lbs in B/SA = 3,442.5 + 170 = 3,612.50
11.25 index - 1.4 = 9.85

The Elapsed Time (ET) Method
This method uses the vehicle weight and the elapsed time (ET) to finish a quarter mile (402.3 meters) on the formula of Horsepower = Weight (ET/5.825)3.

747 horsepower.

Could you look into the possibility of HP determined by MPH over 1320, this seems to align with my dyno testing and others over the years. A perfect example of this would be over on the Number1GMfan thread.

I completely agree with you there. I figured the 587 would put you around an -.80 under car, give or take a little. If a guy wants to be competitive in a heads up race against the top dogs - you'll need that 645 range. Just my perspective.

None of those "top dogs" will run it 1320, to protect the number.
Maybe Scott Gove might.
