Make-A-Wish... Something to think about
I just put and article from Al Nyhus from the Midwest Class Racers on Class Racer Magazine. It makes you think about how most of us have it pretty good. I know some are not happy with the way things are in our racing, but it pales in comparison to what these kids go through.
To see the smiles on their faces when you make them apart of your day is priceless. So the next time we get on each others case or have a beef with NHRA, stop and think.... hey, we really don't have it that bad after all. Check out the article here...http://classracer.com/magazine/?p=4544 |

Re: Make-A-Wish... Something to think about
Life can be very humbling. My husband suffers with rheumatoid arthritis and I just went through some cancer surgeries. You think things are bad, then you look around and see so many worse off. I've learned to not sweat the little stuff, live each day like there's no tomorrow, and do what makes me happy. Life is too short to not be happy!

Re: Make-A-Wish... Something to think about
In having a small part in organizing this race I will say we (MCR) thought we were giving The Make A Wish children & there families a great day with the experience at the race track. In turn the greatest gift has been given to us as racers meeting these special children & there families.

Re: Make-A-Wish... Something to think about
The Make A Wish Race at Marion is my fave race of the year!!! Last year I judged the kids' coloring contest & the year before I gave a young girl & her Mom a ride down the track in my car for the parade, We all had ear to ear smiles!!!! I gave away some t-shirts & coozies to the kids, it is def worth the trip!!
