Default Midwest Super Comp results :Cordova

What went down @ Cordova

Well while It was raining on central Illinois the opposite was true at Cordova International Drag Way as we had 20 cars make the call for first round Saturday with reining Champ Chad LaMont posting an 8.902 for he number one qualifying spot.
In Saturday's semis it was newcomer Chris Sullivan against Mark Meier and Brian Reimer with the bye. What makes things interesting was first was the suspect way Mark advanced to the semi's his first round opponent broke an axel on the starting line , his second round opponent broke the rear axel in winning the first round and he had a bye in the third round? ( a special discrete internal investigation has been launched with it's focus reportedly on Mark's nefarious spouse Donna Meier)
Well Chris defeated Mark and Brian had a bye on which he blew the tires off ! got loose and lifted to a 12 Second et ! giving lane choice to Mr. Sullivan for the final.
Now don't know what happened to Bryan on that bye but I do know he got his fecal matter neatly organized for the finals he posted something like a 003 light initiated 8.903 to stop Mr. Sullivan.
The Reimers and Kwas definitely had fun in the winner's circle with Kwas "making it rain Benjamin's" on delighted Brian.

Sunday saw once again great weather and 18 cars making the call with none other than Pat LaMont qualifying #1 with an 8.901
With Pat advancing when Larry Wasilewski broke on the starting line.. Son Chad used a startling live advantage to end the Daubner's day .016/8.92 vs .033/8.92. Chris Sullivan likewise parlayed a starting advantage to defeat Larry Reimer .022/.048 8.93's a pair. Gary (Bad Beaver) Jenkins defeated Jim Glossen .033/8.923 vs. .045/8.913. The Professor Ben Baer schooled JeffTorbeck .014/.031 with both posting 8.92 there in becoming arguably the best Super Comp team in all of Braidwood!
Mark Meier out drove Russ Brown and Donna out dialed Marty to send them "back to Burlington" (.012/8.91 vs. .035/8.93)
Rob Bush used a 004 light to spank the previous night's winner and waaaay late Brian Reimer. 004/8.93 vs. .091!/ 8.897!
Waterloo Iowa's Ray Thompson advanced when Jim Gerakaris when -.008 red. And finally Gene Kwasborski's little brother Rich
parlayed a .002 second starting line advantage to a victory over Ben Wolf with both racers posting 8.880!

Round two saw Ben Baer advance over a too quick Chad LaMont 8.93 vs 8.895!
: Mr. Sullivan dodged a bullet when a quicker leaving (.006 v .028) Kwas took little too much stripe 8.84/8.92.:
Gary Jenkins survived a double breakout over Mark Meier 8.88/8.87. Ray Thompson uses a .01 better light and a 8.899 to push out Rob Bush's 8.845 and Capt'in Pat LaMont had a bye.

Round three saw Chris Sullivan stop the Professor .018/8.92 v .031/8.94 .
Capt'in Pat took a small nap and Ray posted an 8.907 to end his day. Jenkins had da bye (8.907!).

Round 4 saw Gary use a .01 hole shot and a .01 closer 8.91 to defeat Mr. Thompson. And Chris posted an 8.912 on his bye.

Da final: Well it looked to be a good one but it was over -.005 before the green as Andy's partner, Judy's Guy and Tom ***' future brother in law, Gary "took a shot" at the tree and missed giving the win to Chris & Haley Sullivan
Congratulations Chris! Well done.
