Default 7.5 to 8.8 mustang swop?

Hey Guys I picked up an 8.8 with a posi & 3.73 gear in it @ the swop meat saturday..... so how big a deal is it to change ? the car is a 92 LX. the rearend i got is complete ... looks like they just took a torch and cut all the control arms off along with the E-brake. also can i just unbolt the brakes off the 7.5 & bolt them to the 8.8? i would like to keep the E-brake Marissa is going to drive this on the street . & will the control arms off the 7.5 work?

just bolt it in. arms are the same. i would go ahead and replace all the bushings since you have it out.

1987 to 1993 will bolt in; 1994 or newer will not bolt in.

The only thing that may be a concern is the rear brake hose and rubber hose. The 8.8 will have the brake hose mounted to a diff cover bolt, near the center of the housing. All the 7.5"`s that I have seen have the rubber brake hose attatched to the right axle tube, mounted by the diff vent fitting. On a car with a dual exaust system, the rubber hose gets very close to the tailpipe. Also, depending on the years involvd, the park brake cables may be different. I think the 79-86 cables are all the same, but they changed in 1987, where the cable attatches to the hand brake lever.
