Default Loose Rocker Announces 2014 Schedule, Fat Payouts

Loose Rocker Announces 2014 Event Schedule Featuring Fat Payouts
December 7, 2014

The Loose Rocker, LLC promotions team of Michael Beard and Anthony Walton has announced an expanded drag racing schedule for the 2014 season, visiting a variety of new facilities with a wide range of events for both big money bracket racing and class racing.

The most significant change in the Loose Rocker brand of racing is the introduction of the new "FAT 5's", billed as the $5K races that pay like a $10K.

"There are a lot of big money races out there today, but with bigger payouts come higher entry fees," said Beard. "We wanted to come up with a way to have a big money race weekend that people could afford. Our new FAT 5's pay $100 per round starting with 3rd round winners, just like most $10K races. That adds up fast, so even the guys that don't make it to the final four can pay for their weekend! Nobody goes to a race for round money, but it's when we're on the way home that we count that round money. That's what we want to offer our customers: round money that actually counts. We've also raised the Runner-Up money on our $5K races to $1,500, so there will be more to go around if drivers want to make deals."

The "big bucks" season kicks off March 14-16, 2014 as both Top ET (delay box) and Footbrake classes invade Virginia Motorsports Park for the St. Patrick's Classic, with a shot at a $10,000-to-win Main Event, bookended by a pair of FAT 5's. With a weekend entry deal of just $290 and $100 round money all three days, racers can quickly recoup their investment.

"We're proud to bring the Loose Rocker brand of racing to Virginia Motorsports Park. We're really happy to be able to bring our customers to a national event style facility. They have a ton of asphalt parking, and its central location just off I-95 makes it ideal. VMP is only 5-1/2 hours from Atco, NJ, Bristol, TN and Columbia, SC," said Beard. "Track manager Allen Carpenter really knows how to prep a track. We like to run a fast-paced, efficient program, and we think Carpenter is a good match for us."

On May 2-4, 2014, Loose Rocker celebrates the original U.S. Class Nationals created by Alex Denysenko in 2001, with an event dedicated solely to Stock and Super Stock. The Inaugural Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals at National Trail Raceway outside of Columbus, Ohio will feature everything that class racers love. On Friday, it is Lucas Oil Class Eliminations for heads-up racing, the QuickFuel Quick 32's for the very fastest in both Stock and Super Stock, and the Hammerhead & Buckeye S/SS Series Junior Stock Shootout for the underappreciated lower classes. On Saturday, NitroPlate presents a $3,000-to-win S/SS Combo Warmup, and then traditional eliminators take center stage on Sunday with Ultimate Converter Stock Eliminator and ATI Performance Products Super Stock Eliminator, each vying for $5,000 to win.

Loose Rocker returns to Virginia Motorsports Park on August 15-17, 2014 for the Inaugural Colonial Classic, featuring an identical format to the St. Patrick's Classic, of a $10,000-to-win Main Event and two FAT 5's for both Top ET and Footbrake.

In November, Piedmont Dragway will host two Loose Rocker specialty events. The 3rd Annual American Doorslammer Nationals will feature two FAT 5's and a massive $20,000-to-win Main Event, all just for delay box door cars and left-hand steer roadsters. The season comes to a close with the $20,000 Thanksgiving Tradition, as the best Footbrake racers in the country compete for two FAT 5's and the coveted $20,000 Main Event title at the Fall Footbrake Frenzy VI.

"We brought the $20K Footbrake back to Piedmont, and our customers responded with over 200 cars in each race," said Beard. "We experienced unseasonably cold temperatures, but Kevin Shipmon, Gilmer Hinshaw and the rest of the track crew worked their tails off, and we had a great event. They run things just like we do. It's another good fit, and we're looking forward to two more great events there in 2014."
