Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Not to let that Florida guy have all the fun I’ll get a update in..
Repainted the cage (3rd time), replaces all the weather seals and small gaskets. Door handles, marker lights, bumpers and tail lights all re installed. I started on the rear carpet, just need a proper pipe to use Todd’s method of burning the cage holes. I’m a little pissed the body man didn’t drill the 396 fender emblem holes in the correct spot but it is what it is. I’ll come up with some solution as I can’t live with it. UPS wearing a path in the driveway this week!!!! 1st off a big shout out to Marty from Rinehart performance. The days of dealing with Santhuff direct are long gone but Marty was great to deal with and spent the time to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. 3mo later the missing link has arrived. Front rim and tires also arrived Pressure plate and bellhousing FINALLY came back. They replaced the pp fingers and did a little machining on the bell for the fork. We were able to start indexing, ended up .001 out on the parallel but 24 thou out on the concentric. Probably the most important delivery was the RobbMC performance offset dowel pins. Another vendor that was great to deal with!! Someone answered the phone late sat afternoon and I had the dowels by Monday. Hopefully stab the motor this Sunday |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Motor and trans, back in.
I’ve been messing with the clutch fork and linkage. I have a few questions for any of the stick guys following my build. Where should I run the spring off the fork? Factory it looks like there’s metal extension rod that connects the spring to the motor mount. I’ve also seen where guys attach a hose clamp to a header tube.. Throwout bearing to pressure plate finger clearance?? I’ve read 1/8” to 1/2” Where is a good place to start with air gap? From the info I gathered I’m thinking of starting with .050 |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
I've got a tab welded to the headers for my spring. .050" air gap is a good starting place. You might go a bit more if you want room to adjust your reaction time in the future.

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
did you replace your stock linkage with heim joints from the pedal to the fork ? that's an upgrade worth doing
as mentioned .050 is a good place to start ,also TOB to levers should be no less than a 1/4 as for the amount of counter weight will affect how close the fingers comes to the bearing at high rpm,, gmonde nice build ! |

Think I need to take about 3” out of the top bar but it’s getting there. |
