Default Snap-On MT 406 help

I have a Snap-On MT406 volt ohm meter that I am trying to
repair for a friend. I need to know what batteries are required
and if the two 9volt type batteries are wired in series or
parallel. Snap-On sent me a down load for the manual but a wiring schematic is no longer available from them.
