Attn: Jim Wahl - You shoulda patented the idea 30 years ago!
Jim,
Somebody on moparts.com found and posted this link on their forum. If you would have followed up on the idea, maybe you could have retired a long time ago! http://www.racingjunk.com/post/10278...housings..html

Steve,
It appears to be a fabricated housing that gets welded over the 8 3/4" pumpkin that allows you to bolt a Dana 60 cover to it. The reason I found it funny and brought it to Jim's attention is that years ago he actually strapped a Dana 60 cover on his 8 3/4" equipped SS/KA Demon while racing.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, that doesn't always mean it is a duck!

Quack! The short story is, after being told how much I needed a dana 60 in my car by almost everyone who bothered to look to see what rear I had in the car, I wired a chrome dana 60 cover on the back of the 8 3/4 mopar rear. Most people who looked after that thought I had a dana in the car and I didn't have to hear their suggestions anymore! The only problem came one race when upon initial launch on a qualifying pass the cover fell off, bolts, nuts, wire and all, baffling several guys who were standing on the line. No grease! Jim
P.S. Myron, I have a small block at the machine shop as we speak.
