Code 27 is a voltage sense fault meaning that the controll is not reconizing AC voltage being produced. Could be caused by bad brushes, bad wire or connection, A! controll or even the rotor or stator. ... I would start by inspecting the brushes. Problem Hope you find a Fixer

Newer Onan's had an issue with Broken brushes. Just helped a friend with that issue. They often break a brush and keep running for a while until the broken brush is no longer long enough to contact commutator, then throw a code and will start then shut off due to the lack of voltage. If you test the resistance of the wires from the brushes and it's an open circuit(infinite resistance) you have broken brushes. I'll have to look up the pin out for the connector. It's a bit of work to fix, but not complicated.

What model/size is the machine you are having trouble with

Diesel or gas and what KW is it or Model Letter code off the machine's ID label....and how old is it and how many hours on it

All this info is helpful and since I work on them constantly.....I can tell you a lot more once I know this info....

I am in NJ and yes I do work on machines when I'm at a race sometimes for racers or at least take a look....a repair could be much to difficult at the track......
