Default 65 elcamino overheating

Car has 28X18 cross flow rad aluminume 2 core with 2 fans and shroud.
will over heat bad in traffic runs almost hot on road.
Know I need a different rad, have contacted griffin rad co . was informed their larger rad would fix the problem.
Can go 2 inches wider on both sides and 2 incvhes lower.
Engine is 454 60 over with 871 blower and carbs .
Suggestions please.

Wow, 60 over and a blower? you're lucky it doesn't overheat shut off. All kidding aside, a blower will add about 30 degrees on a motor on the street. Make sure you have a thermostat!! You must run one, 160Degree stat. Electric fans and full shroud is a must also
