Live from Earlville!!
Finally got here this morning--500 mile trip. But this is one of Larry's favorite races, so we had to come. First time we have been here since 2003. Lots of cars here. Said they parked 400 yesterday and there has been a steady stream all day today. It rained a bunch last night and was cloudy this morning, but now the sun is out and really nice. Probably not going to be near the controversy here, but should have a good time. They are having a Racers Appreciation dinner tonight. That is always good and fun. Made 1 run and now he's working on the car so we can get the clean-up run this afternoon.
More later. Patsy |

Re: Live from Earlville!!
Got the six pack in the "Private Lee" this weekend. Going pretty well. Larry tried to fool Brad Van Lant into thinking he went faster than he did since he didn't have the B/SA on the window, but Brad figured it out! LOL Then he came over and helped Larry work on the car. That's what so great about this sport--you have problems and someone is there to help you out. Everything is running very well here. Everyone already has their clean-up run in and getting ready for the dinner tonight. It is looking like a wonderful weekend. 70's during the day and 50's at night.
If you are here in Earlville, come by for a drink. You can't miss us. We are right by the road when you 1st come thru the gate. More later. Patsy |

Re: Live from Earlville!!
Went down for the dinner tonight. Good bar-b-q and potato salad. Thanks to all the nice people here at Tri-State for putting it on.
There are a few of us from Division 3 here this weekend. Been over talking to Marlene and Darwin Hardy and Marty Buth. There is even a Division 4 car here. Jerry Davis from Texas. And then there are all the friendly Division 5 folks like Brad Van Lant, the Koppeins, Ray Kahout, Jack Briner, Brian Schultz, the Mosbeks. This should be a really fun race. And we don't have to get up early in the morning. They start out with Super Street, Super Stock, Super Comp and then Stock. We get 2 time trials tomorrow, then run 1st round tomorrow evening. Don't know any news, so more later. Patsy |

Re: Live from Earlville!!
Thanks Greg for the invite. I think we are coming to Columbus, but we have to see how work is going. We are going to have to withdraw from Memphis because Larry has to go out of town to work, so hopefully we will make it to Columbus. I will tell Darwin your message. It was really nice to be able to sleep in a little this morning. Things are rolling along very well here. They have already run Super Street and Super Stock, and now starting Super Comp then us in Stock. More cars have been coming in this morning. Weather is wonderful this morning, about 60, sunny.
More later. Patsy |

Re: Live from Earlville!!
Some observances this morning sitting outside our motorhome on this beautiful fall day in Iowa. Entire families coming in to watch the races. Mom, Dad, babies in strollers. Everyone having a great time. Something else that you probably won't see at any other track--a tractor pulling a wagon with seats to bring the spectators in. Another unusual site--a 4 wheeler pulling a wagon with a bar complete with bar stools and upholstered swivel cars going thru the pits. People here know how to have a good time!
Talked with both Mr. Cassill's today. Really friendly people here. You need to put this race on your calendar for next year! Made a good run this morning. Another one this afternoon, then 1st round tonight. More later. Patsy |
