Default Carb #'s

I guess it just a thorn in the side but why/is there a reason, does NHRA continue to list carb numbers on tech sheets?

Just guessing, but maybe it's because that's the information that the OEM furnished the NHRA when they submitted the combination for the Guide? At a minimum you would need to know the OE manufacturer of the carb and the two specs they use to classify them - venturi size and throttle-bore diameter. Having a number just makes it easier for some folks when finding a replacement.
