Back Surgery.....Equalizer bar options
Trying to be good to my recent back surgery, after 5 surgeries, I hope we are getting closer to getting it right, just thinking about things that would "save" my back.......hooking up the trailer weight distribution hitch with the equalizer bars, are there any good options to NOT using those and getting a level ride ??? Air bag system ??? I do have a "sag" even with the dually, so I have to have something to help. Any suggestions ????

Hi Rusty
Try hooking up the equalizer bars before you drop the tounge down on the ball. It should not take too much effort to snap the bars in then let the jack down. Also get a sleep number bed. I have one and it was a miracle for me.

Re: Back Surgery.....Equalizer bar options
If you have a power jack on the trailer......Hook up the ball and latch it.....raise the trailer with the jack and it will also lift the back of the truck a bit.....hook up the bars and than lower the jack......You'll load the bars and not have to use much force to hook them up and should get rid of your sag....
I hook my bars up with my bare hands and never need to use any extra leverage. You have to experiment with how much to load it when the trailer is up. I have Reese square bars with cam sway control......I just count the chain links....You can load it too much and the back of the truck will stay up when you lower the trailer jack..... I have done it this way for 25 years.......with the same hitch platform and bars.... I need to raise my trailer to unload the car I have....a dragster......I used to just raise the trailer with the truck still attached.....the jack would do it....I cracked a drop hitch ball mount and luckily saw it before it broke....I replaced it and stopped jacking the trailer and truck together as high as I was going.....I break them apart before jacking the trailer.....
