Re: '23 Rule Revision for SS?
I've been looking around. Appears to be a land yacht class. Most smog era Mid to full size GM's with smaller motors, for example. '77 Lesabre 301, '76 Lesabre 350, etc. Most 360's, and some 400 Chryslers will fit into it as well with a bit of weight, depending on the platform...(Wagon's, NY Brougham's).

I'd say it's for the 302 FFFFords, and the like. There's a big difference between the Q/SA index and SS/PA for 2 bbl. cars.. They need more than a manifold and a roller cam. Or, maybe Mr. Wong has gotten enough hp off for it ..???

I've always liked a Station Wagon and a small engine. I know it's not the best combo because of the frontal area and the amount of time on the track, but could be a "fun " ride. Maybe put my son in something like that. What's the Index for that? Respectfully, Henry Kunz 1534 H/SA |

Re: '23 Rule Revision for SS?
So what are they up to here? One can only speculate..
A need to pump up the S/S entries at Nat's? The new, friendlier NHRA? It wasn't long ago that , in order to add another FWD class, they had to do away with one. Remember, you'll need more "safety" in S/S ...Including full dress uniform, trans blanket? .roll bar or cage, 2 year belts , all for a high 12 index. Now, Joe Bracket Bomb doesn't need a bar until 11.49, but you will. Billy, We better build two of them so we can race each other at Indy. Not much chance in the combo class, or qualifying, for that matter, the way I see it. Meanwhile, let's bring in X/Stock too.

Re: '23 Rule Revision for SS?
Mark, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Ernie Neal (?) build a Caprice with a baby LT-1? That would be my guess because it MUST be an 18 lb. car.
