Most likely because the said person above was rated at 229 hp, got hp added to 232, then NHRA thought it was a good idea to just lump all 305 G Body’s all together at the 232 hp rating, makes no sense but since I run this combo that all I can make out of the deal

They also lumped 307 olds in Cutlass and Custom Cruiser Wagon. 2 different platforms so they agreed to adjust end of year if wagon stays slow the rest of the year.

I’m a little clueless how the chev g body 305s got lumped in. There “was” different part numbers available for each at the time the runs were made by the Olds.

As of this year the numbers have been added to each to make them the same, but by no means were they the same at the time the runs were made.

Also, the HP for the Olds was less obviously allowing it to run at a lighter weight.

I’m curious too if the Chev 305 runs were included in the “family average” even though at the time they were rated at a different HP.
