Default New 5.0 with bolt ons = 11.90s

The potential is getting lots of attention.

Are there any Stockers under constuction
or already running with the new 5.0?

Full clip from Stang TV.
A short video on the progress from
stock to bolt on rocket.

Thumbs up Re: New 5.0 with bolt ons = 11.90s

The new Mustang 5.0's are great....those 11's are impressive, but remember, the early LS1 346" Camaros and Firebirds were deep into the 11's w/same mods or less, 10-12 years back in 1998-9. The bow ties and blue ovals will be slugging it out at the track once again.....just like back in the '60s......great for this sport. WJ

A friend of mine is selling off his '72 SS454 Chevelles and getting a 2011 Mustang. He's going to order a base GT with cloth interior and the Brembo brake / 19" wheel package and a manual trans. It stickers for $32K but he has found around $5K in discounts by being in the Mustang Club of America and his wife is a recent college graduate.
We've discussed the gearing. low gear is a rock climbing 3.61 and standard rear is 3.31 with optional 3.73. Normally the 3.73's would be best but with a 1st gear ratio of 13.46, can't imagine there is much traction. The 3.31 ratio would be 11.95. I'm not sure how traction control figures in this as I'm just an old school kinda guy.
And if a supercharger ever gets added then the 3.31's may be better.
Decisions, decisions...and always best with somebody else's money!

The magazine guys did the road test on the new 5.0 that Ford rates at around 410 hp....they took it to a chassis dyno and hit over 400hp at the rear wheels with it stock......
