Need Help From '72-'73 Racers

Asked in the Nostalgia section. But there are lots of racers who don't go there. So, I'm posting this here.

Especially for you racers who were racing Stock or SS in either '72 or '73, I'm trying to find someone with a copy of the NHRA "Factor Finder" publication, from either '72 or '73 or both.

Do you have one ?

Do you know anyone who has a copy of either or both ?

Do you know of an online source where I can read and or download or copy of either the '72 or '73 version, preferably both ?

Any ideas where I might be able to get the hp factors for Pontiac combos in both '72 & '73 ?

Any help sourcing this info will be appreciated !

There is currently 3 rulebooks from 1972, 1 from 1971 & 1 from 1973 for sale on E-bay.

But I don't need a rule book.

I'm trying to locate an NHRA publication entitled "Factor Finder". They were supposedly published in '72 & '73. Had the NHRA horsepower factors for different engines.

Have never seen one. Only recently heard of their existence.

In 1972 NHRA came out with a book called the Factor Finder. That book gave all the re-factored horsepowers higher than what the manufacturer listed. Quoting from the Factor Finder book....."The 'factoring' system was developed by NHRA, defining separate performance ratings for use in lieu of manufactures' advertised horsepower listings on many cars in competition". 1972 and 1973 saw the Factor Finder books printed, then followed by putting the refactored horsepower in the Classguide below each engine column..."

OR, if someone has all the NHRA Pontiac hp factors for the '71, '72, '73, & '74 seasons, that would be great.

I believe I still have a Factor Finder, but it's buried somewhere in the rafters of my garage. I will look for it after the holidays when I'm putting all the Christmas decorations away.

A member was nice enuff to send me pics of the front cover of both the '72 & '73 Factor Finders.

So, any more of you guys have one of these stashed away somewhere ?

That's great. I assume it would include some '73 models, which were not in the '72 version.

Don't know how many hp factors, if any, were changed from '72 to '73.
