I agree Charlie.
The only part in my car that can't buzz 10,000 rpm is the driver! I've decided to take most of the guessing out of the situation and dyno the motor. Only mistake I made so far is I wish I put the current motor on the dyno before I made the change to see how much gain there really is. I suppose the time slip will tell me that story.

Both my 406 and 434 18 degree motors make peak power @ 7500 and peak torque @ 5900. At 7900 they lose 20 hp.

Rod,
That sounds more of the Norm to me. So if your peak power is at 7500, do you shift at 7500?

We shift on time. If I was looking for the quickest possible et I would probably be shifting in the 7800 range and want to go thru at 8000 or so. In 10.90 trim we go thru at 7400 running 147. If you have any questions send me a pm. Thanks, rod |
