Default Commonly Known As The World's Fastest Muscle Car

The L023 Super Stock Hemi Dart is commonly considered the fastest muscle car of all time.

"The seller had this real 426 built with expensive internals for racing although he says he never got around to racing it. It has been dyno'd at 471 horsepower. He believes it would run 9's in stock trim."

"Seller" is living on another planet... If that Hemi only made 471 HP he needs a better engine builder. And if he thinks it will run in the 9's with only 471 HP then that Dart only weighs about 2000 pounds... unlikely, ya think?

"The actual Hemi engine featured a pair of Holley carbs on a magnesium cross-ram intake. Iron heads (instead of aluminum) were used to keep the cost down."

Chrysler had aluminum Hemi heads in 1968?

Cool car but the article is full of crap.

The V12s' valve adjustment seemed a bit loose, guess he shoulda made some itsy bitsy hydraulic lifters.

The V12 is pretty impressive, but I don't think it comes close to this:

I agree who ever wrote that article didn't do their homework...it says the '68 Hemi Darts & Cudas were built at the Hurst facility in Texas, really...all the other articles ever written about these cars over the past 40 plus years say they were built in Detroit Michigan.

That engine actually dyno'd north of 820 hp and the restoration is one of the finest I've ever seen.
