One thing I never found an answer for definitely, did the Hemi A-Body's have horns installed? Any pictures of that area of the core support around?

Theres a good question Jim. I dont have a clue. Mine does but I drive it on the street. I'll now keep my eye on some old engine compartment pics.

Liteweight
I have seen a pic of an original BO29 engine compartment taken in 68 and it had a horn ,but was mounted on the front side on the rad support not the engine comparment side , the car had a cool can added so they would have relocated the horn on the outside , they must have had to have the horn for rules otherwise they probably wouldnt have relocated it back on .

If it helps at all, the 69 Super Stock AMXs had one horn removed and one remained.

Just a ‘Head’s Up’ Gents…

I know the primary objective of this thread is to help ‘Liteweight’ find the history of his LO23, and that this is not staying ‘on-topic’… but as a fellow Hemi freak, Mopar fanatic, and lover of these machines… I thought y’all might like to put this on your calander.

The Mecum Kissimmee 2017 Auction (January 6th-15th)… is slated to feature the following vintage Hemi drag cars crossing the block:

1963 Dodge 330 Lightweight… (Wain Pearce)
1964 Dodge 330 Lightweight… 'Hemi-Honker' (Bud Faubel)
1964 Plymouth Hemi Savoy Lightweight… ‘Virginian II’ (Pee Wee Wallace)
1965 Dodge Hemi Coronet A990 Super Stock… ‘N Harm’s Way’ (Harmon Friend)
1965 Plymouth Belvedere A990 Lightweight… (Miller & Guenther)
1965 Plymouth Belvedere A/FX… ‘Haulin’ Hemi II’ (Lee Smith)
1967 Dodge Hemi Coronet Super Stock… ‘Barnett Bros.’ (Arlen Vanke)
1967 Dodge Hemi Coronet Super Stock… ‘California Flash’ (Butch Leal)
1968 Dodge Hemi Dart Super Stock… (Bob Lambeck)

You can read a bit more about each of these cars by going to the following link…
https://www.mecum.com/auctions/kissimmee-2017/lots/featured/

Gonna be some sweet iron rolling across the stage…

Anyhow… good luck with the search Daryl.
