I figured that's who he was talking about, but I wasn't 100% sure. I remember the first time I saw their car many years ago I thought the same thing until I looked under the hood. They went Comp racing, didn't they?

As for Big Block vs. Small Block / High MPH vs. Low MPH, yes, you CAN be competitive with a slow car. But please, I wasn't born yesterday. Everyone in the .90 categories haven't gone faster and faster over the years just because they like to spend more money and run a 90 at a higher speed. Every good driver knows that it's easier to chase, and that there's an advantage to being the faster car at the top end (to a point - obviously that advantage goes out the window to a certain extent if its a close race and you're running against somebody that's 30+ mph slower than you).

If that's not the case then I challenge all of you to either move up to the fastest class that your car can currently run (I should be running S/G at 138 mph), or better yet, sell your expensive big power motors and build a near stock 454, pocket the extra cash, and go out and be competitive.

I don't think I'll get many takers...

Okay, so maybe I won't be the only one out there under 160 mph. I assume the DRAW sheet mentioned is a full list of everyone's 1st round, or qualifying passes, available for purchase? Is this only at Nationals, or also at divisional events? Sorry for the simple questions, but I haven't run a national since 1993 or a divisional since early 1994!

Thanks,

Jason,

If my memory serves me correctly you could probaly look back in your stack of National Dragsters & find a picture of his car on the cover.
