Wouldn't they be quicker if they didn't do the huge wheelstand? It takes momentum to go up. If you are going up your taking away from going forward?

SHHHH !!! Don't you WANT to see the wheelies? That video should win an Oscar. I wish i was amongst those few dozen people in the stands.

Momentum is the real catch here. Strap a 426 Hemi to some 9 inch slicks with a 4 speed and try to catch the ultimate balance between wheelstand and spin.

You are right, in a perfect world the cars would only go forward because they would not need to go up at all to hook. But that would not be any fun would it?

Trust me.. I love a good wheelie..

But it looks like the near lane lost since he spent more time in the air. It actually looks like he might have unloaded the back wheels a bit at the top of the wheelie.

I have won at Indy at the Bracket finals.. It is my most special win.

If I had a chance to win class final at Indy I would want to go forward as quick as possible, even if it meant a little less of a show.

Jame's said it to the point, These cars make more than 650hp, combined with light weight front ends, No 4link only traction bars and 9in tires they need weight transfer or they will not move at all.
