My thought is a class car should be teched, weighed and fuel checked before making any run. The class to be run should be stated and placed on the sticker and the vehicle properly marked also. This would alleviate some of the confusion and mistakes before qualifying begins. If a car is found light or fuel non spec etc. then NHRA can take action.
Also some of the tracks I have been too, the return roads are long, have curves and go through some pit area before the scales. Maybe this should be a concern.
Ask yourself, why do you class race. The rules to follow, the acomplishments of making a car go fast while pushing the envelope under tight specs. Im sure there are many reasons otherwise just go bracket race and all is well.
Lets do our part everyone and enjoy NHRA class racing for the time we have left and the tracks that are still here.
Thanks.

Bobby, by doing our part do you mean by following the rules and not blatantly cheating or by being vigilant and policing the known cheaters? Asking for a friend!

Also, I can tell you, I talked to Cody Lane myself earlier today and he basically stated the same as Jeff has here. Yes, I actually picked up the phone and called the person in question, rather than communicate over Internet. Full disclosure, he messaged me if I wanted to know with a phone number and I called. I think Cody is a little younger than I am and I’m 29, and somehow we communicated like adults, crazy deal happened earlier today.

Now, I haven’t heard from the NHRA side fully, but I’ve put in a few texts and calls that way as well. I’d suggest if you have questions, you can do the same.
Austin, do you really think if you asked someone who cheated, “hey man, what happened”? He’s actually going to say “yeah man, I knew I went 1.20 under and had to chuck some weight out before the scales to get the run dq’d so I don’t get instant horsepower on my combo!” Come on man!!!

Bryan, I doubt very much that the majority of S/SS Racers would be willing to "be vigilant and police the known cheaters" unless it directly affected them. Ya take a lot of s&&t for "ratting" out cheaters in this game.

Well I’ve taken **** in the past for calling out cheaters, so you think it’s gonna bother me if it happens again??? Lol!!! With the lack of tech, it’s time for racers like me to take the stand against them. So when they know I’m on the property, I’ll be watching!!! There are a bunch of us that go to the races with two things in mind. First is having fun and enjoying that time with our racing friends and family. Second is to win the race. The last thing I want to happen is one of my close friends, my brother , or me to lose because someone is cheating! I’m sure you heard of my DQ from Atco last year, after I won second round, because I wrote the wrong year for my car on my tech card. That cost me big time in the end!! So now when I hear of bs like this going on, it infuriates me!!!! I for one will demand justice! I hope more and more will back me!!!

I'm just saying, I heard one of the sides of the story. I have also heard from people at the track.

Now, I haven't heard from NHRA fully but I plan to, not sure if anyone else does.

Also, just from a logistic standpoint, it would take me a decent amount of time to figure out how to get weight out of the car as it is in weight boxes. So, if there was foul play it would have had to take a noticeable amount of time at the end of the track...or unless there was "loose weight" in the car. Should we go ahead and start that rumor/conspiracy as well?

I think there are going to be three sides to this one regardless how it plays out: the Lanes, the competitors and the truth. Two of those could wind up being the same.

All of your theories are just ridiculous...

The problem when you compound lies with more lies is you are start to lose track of the truth. You say you didn't go to the end of the track, but you happened to be at the scale when Cody weighed...

With all the stuff that's went down at Woodburn alone within the last year with you two this is a super bad look no matter how you want to spin it. Thing is Jeff people were watching. A -1.20 run will have that effect. Several on the starting line saw you take off down the return road.

These are not theories as you say but fact.

Austin, what Jeff says on here is totally different than what Cody told me on Saturday after it happened. There's a ton of history here with shady stuff and most guys I've talked to have had enough of the blatant disregard for the rules and lack of respect for other racers.

Austin no disrespect buddy but I could lose 100 pounds out of my weight box before you could get your coat and pants off.

Bryan, yer preaching to the choir, I get it. Remember, you're talking to the guy who was tossed at Indy because his heads "looked too stock". I'm not gonna stop "watching" any time soon either.
A big problem that we have here (in S/SS) is the "Who's yer Daddy" issue. Who's buddies with who, who's in who's back pocket, who's doing lunch with the Tech Director, etc.etc.etc.. I don't know the fix for that.
