Steve no longer owns the car and hasn't for several years. It is now owned by Nick Smith from Florida. It actually runs now as it was a "roller" when Mr. Atwell had it.
Mr Smith also owns the Landy '65 AWB car among other very historic race cars.

I was saddened to see the current state of Landy's AWB car recently. It has been over restored now with slick reproduction interior panels and overly straight body and paint work. Guffey had it right when he performed an era correct cosmetic restoration on Dick's old Dodge back in the late 80s. In my humble opinion, that car should've remained a little rough around the edges with its Landy dyed OEM interior panels and blue tinted side glass.

does anyone have any pics of the front suspension on the strickler 2% car--that car is way up there -wondering how they acomplished that ? in high school there were a few cars that what they called back then[reversed spindles] that consisted of cutting off the origonal spindle stub and welding another spindle to where the stub was cut off [like the upper ball joinrt area was welded to where the spindle stub was removed] 3 55-57 chevs and a facon were done like this---wondered if mopar did something similar or what they did-----thanks dave

A couple of pics I took at the International Mercury Owners Association meet at Indy in 1998.
One thing I will give him, when he took it out of the trailer and fired it, I knew by the sound and smell I was in for a treat.
