Re: Live from the US Nationals INDY
Well we are about 45 minutes away from the first run of Indy 2015! You can feel the excitement in the air! (Along with the heavy humidity)LOL
It is 67 now, probably 70 or so by the time the first cars go down and 75 by the time the last of the pack roll down. It is supposed to be sunny all day, going up to about 90. Wish you were all here to enjoy it with us! |

Re: Live from the US Nationals INDY
Gotta love it when an event starts on time. Scheduled start 8:30 a.m. and the first pair of Stock Eliminator cars took the Tree at 8:27. I don't have specifics on the weather but it's 73 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Going to be warm and humid for most of the day it appears.
The big question is how many Factory Showdown cars and right now, I don't know but obviously we'll have a clearer picture after Q1. As for bump spot predictions, most people seem to think it will be around -.92 so I'll go with that but I'd expect a fair number of alternates to get in due to breakage, tech issues, and the likelihood that some of the Factory Showdown cars sit out Eliminations. More later.... |

For those looking for some light reading this morning. Here is a link to my Sports Report column on the National Dragster.net site. This week we're handicapping Friday's Mopar Hemi Challenge.
https://www.nationaldragster.net/dai...challenge.html Below is a link to last week's column which chronicles my recent trip to Sweden where class racing is alive and well. https://www.nationaldragster.net/dai...in-europe.html Enjoy |

Re: Live from the US Nationals INDY
Now THAT was wild.
Roy Hill's Cobra Jet did a 300-foot wheelstand before crossing the centerline. Fortunately, he was running Marty Buth's V/S Ford so Buth had plenty of time to lift. Both cars crossed the finish line in the same lane. |

Re: Live from the US Nationals INDY
Reporting in from my Work desk listening to the Audiocast. Would rather be there......
One item of minor importance.....can anyone remind the announcing crew (who are awesome) to correctly define the new designations for stockers...."Factory Showdown cars" are The X And XX designations and ofcourse other new Iron are "Factory STOCK" A-B-C Etc....... I think its a Big deal to help gain the interest of new people in these categories that they refer correctly. Please understand, NOT being critical. Accuracy is good for all. |

Re: Live from the US Nationals INDY
What an awesome 1st session of Stock qualifying! Lots of big wheel stands and it seemed like every car down the track was about 95 under.
Also we'll see what the Q sheet looks like (there were a few wrong classes), but it feels like there are AT LEAST 20 B/SA cars here. |
