Re: Musical Tastes
"You're No Good" is a song written by Clint Ballard, Jr., first performed by Dee Dee Warwick for Jubilee Records in 1963 with production by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. It has since been covered by many artists, including charting versions by Betty Everett in 1963, The Swinging Blue Jeans in 1964, and Linda Ronstadt in 1975, whose version was a number 1 hit in the United States.

Re: Musical Tastes
"The spirit it was freedom and justice
And its keepers seemed generous and kind Its leaders were supposed to serve the country But now they won't pay it no mind 'Cause the people grew fat and got lazy Now their vote is a meaningless joke They babble about law and order But it's all just an echo of what they've been told"

Re: Musical Tastes
Such a good choice Mark. Monster says it all. Quite a history lesson. As far as that Youngbloods tune from the other thread.....
I like this one better ... Ha Ha

Re: Musical Tastes
I guess you could call this a cover...
In 1967, the Vanilla Fudge took a pop hit from the Supremes and Holland, Dozier ,and Holland, and did a psychedelic version, which came to be their trademark style, and thus opening an entirely new era to the public. RIP, bassist Tim Bogert
