Re: 70's & 80's Pro Stockers
Great pictures - I did not remember that she had a PS car. I ran into Carol (think she was racing an AFC at the time) and found her to be a really warm, open person who was a pleasure to talk to.
Referring to the post upstream about the Eldorado PS car, I saw it make its final run at Gateway in St Louis. Seems like it might have been Ed Dixon driving as a hired shoe, but the crash wasn't due to anything he did/didn't do. The car sounded terrible and did not want to go more than a foot or two in a straight line. I had missed the linked thread and was unaware that it had been involved in a theft, but it the part about the hulk being found during a track remodel checks out since GIR currently runs in the opposite direction from way it was at the time of the crash. |

I thought there were two of those Eldorados? I seem to recall reading somewhere about one being built for Pro Stock, and one for Super Gas. Subsequently, both cars were destroyed.

Re: 70's & 80's Pro Stockers
I never knew of a SG car. Seems like the PS car went through a couple of paint changes at least. Crazy times then, I also remember someone building a Mercedes SL500 with separate frames for the body and the suspension.
