Glad it works for you Eddie. Are the advantages you list for Retired Military only? Would assume they don’t apply to veterans but doesn’t hurt to ask.

What about our school kids that place about 49th in education, the highest gas prices in the nation, the homeless problems, the very high cost of living, etc. your doing fine, good for you, but California is failing for a lot of people.
Did you see where Newsom signed a bill that punishes Dr.’s who give out information contrary to STATE approved medical advise. 😮

Each state is different, the programs I was referring are CalVet. But they are open to all Veterans regardless of the number of years served as long as it was "Honorable". I am also rated at 100% disabled. You may want to check your Department of Veteran Affairs at https://veterans.georgia.gov/

You are wrong on the school rating, it is 44 but we still have some the best universities in the nation and students have to complete an SAT/ACT to get in, does Berkley, Stanford and USC sound familiar. Both of my daughters were AP students in high school and had no problems getting into the school of their choice. California also has the largest apprenticeship programs in the country. The cost of everything in California is higher but so are the wages. California is not a "Right to Work" state. Failure to improve your lot in life via training and education is not a failure of the State but a failure of the individual. If you can't afford to live here...move on! Homelessness is transparent it is everywhere, example: there are 48,000 Vets in this country that are homeless and we have a Vet taking their life very day at a rate of 16.8 per day. What are the Feds (Dems/Repubs) doing about that? What makes this country great is the fact that is the land of opportunity and choice. It is not perfect, but it is ours!

Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill that will subject doctors to discipline and possible suspension of their licenses for spreading misinformation about the covid-19 pandemic to patients. Let's get the whole story here...Good for Newsom!!

Gee, I agree with everything you just wrote above. It makes you sound like a conservative! I was partner in a union construction business and we had up to 100 employees. California goes out of its way to make running a business very difficult. They mandate every aspect of what we do and have their hands in our pockets with taxes and fees. They regulated our trucks, our warehouse and even our parking lot. They tell us who we could employee and keep statistics on our employees by race and gender.
Our journeyman cost us over $72.00hr to employ and we were having a hard time getting apprentices who were willing to work. Most young people don’t want to work hard and move through the apprenticeship program. They want government hand outs and wages beyond what their skill levels are and the politicians will make sure they get it in return for votes. But then the complaints start all over again as the cost of living outpaces their handouts and minimum wages. A vicious cycle that needs to end.

When in Rome do as the Romans do. My wife is a Wage Compliance Officer monitoring prevailing wage on public works jobs. Recovering this year $3.5 million in wages that workers are cheated out of by management, the majority are out of state and nonunion employers. She is a retired Deputy Labor Commissioner. If you want to come to this state you will hear from people just like her. Floating through an apprenticeship has gotten harder here, example are electricians have to pass a certification test after school, you don’t pass you don’t work. So slacking off in school won’t work. And lowballing a bid on a contract and then complaining about what you have to pay your employees is nonsense. I push a lot of military personnel to consider the trades.

After a close check….Congress passed and President Reagan signed into law the 1983 Amendments. Under the '83 Amendments, up to one-half of the value of the Social Security benefit was made potentially taxable income.
