Maybe someone here can tell Jim Kramer to join in on the Class Racer thread to discuss anymore ideas & details on here about this event, it would make for some good reading & conversation in the forums...

We are having a 68 Superstock Hemi Dart and Barracuda reunion at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) in Chicago on November 2013. We have not yet started sending out info as of yet but since this thread came alive I guess it is time to start getting the car owners thinking about it. You can email me about the details at rhinodart@yahoo.com Jim. Also, I am 100% behind anything Josh does, I have been to both of his Monster Mopar shows so far and they have been awesome!

Edit: I put the date as 2014 originally, then I noticed my mistake, it is actually November 2013. I will post more soon, but to see what MCACN is all about go to www.mcacn.com

Jim

Why not have a 1968 SS Hemi Reunion in 2013 (45th anniversary). I know Paul Emiro was wanting to create a reunion next year. I'd sort of think too many in one year might cause a split in attendance for each event.

I couldn't agree with you more James. If there's too many "reunions" attendance for the most part will dwindle & will be divided, specially today when people just don't seem to have the extra cash they used to. Having a 68 S/S 45th show in 2013, & a 64 50th hemi reunion makes more sense than having a 68 only deal get together in 2013.
I'm sure it's hard enough to try & get the owners of some of these cars out for a single reunion per year, never mind more than one. I know I can only do one, & november would not be a preferred time to be driving, specially for us from the north, or those that need to go over mountains.

Josh has taken the ball and ran with it. Maybe he put that one in the toy box and is playing with this year's ball (September event)? I seem to get daily updates on Facebook for this year's event. I doubt I'd be able to go if I'm teaching this semester, and if I'm not I won't have any money to go anywhere. I'm out of the loop on this event at this point.

I was lucky enough to have taken in a few of Fred's shows from about 2000 on. Each one progressively got better & better as word got around. Each year the little town of Elkton, Minnesota was transformed from your typical sleepy little retirement community of less than 200 into something that only dreams are made out of. When the show ended I was already looking forward to what the next year was going to bring. Great, great times meeting great, great people.
Fred rented a boom truck to take these aerial shots. I was able to "cohearse" the owner of it so I could take a few pix myself. By the time I got into the bucket, my arms were full of cameras from people needing pix.
Anyway, this one is mine

Damn, I miss those weekends.

2012 -1962 413 Max Wedge Dodge & Plymouth 50th anniversary.

2013 - 1963 426 Max Wedge Dodge & Plymouth 50th anniversary.

2014 - 1964 426 Race Hemi Dodge & Plymouth 50th anniversary.

...just sayin'

Hey,

What about us poor '64 Max Wedge owners?

It sounds like there is some doubt that you can get enough Hemi cars together to make the event viable. What about making it a Max Wedge/Hemi combo show and race therefore doubling your chance for a large field?

Just a thought,

JimR
