Thanks Pete for filling in, I just did have time to post. We had an official count of 564 I believe. If you did not already know, Atco Dragway is not a big track for parking. 500 plus cars is always a challenge, but I have to say the track officials handled it well. The NHRA staff did a great job getting it all done in a timely manner. It was hot and humid, but I thought the track was in good shape, although I did here of some having issues. We only had a few oil downs, but they were quickly handle.
Danny Gracia was here, not sure the last time he was at Atco, but he did tell me he was impressed how D1 runs their program. I know its not for me to say, but I can't for the life of me understand why the top brass at NHRA are not using Danny and of course Dave Ley on a full time basis anymore. The resource of knowledge between the two of them is priceless. I have such a bad felling on what the future will bring. The market is here, people want to race. I pray NHRA does not miss the opportunity to use this market while its still here. Stock and Super Stock are alive and well, please NHRA do the right thing for the racers that have supported you for over 60 years. I guess I went off topic, feel free to jump in, but try to be nice. |

That was Gracia? Bender told me that he was Jerry Garcia! No wonder he looked at me funny when I told him that I loved his music but I thought he was dead!

I was surprised to see him as well. The rumor mill had him retired and angry. But, there he was in his charcoal nhra shirt and seemed to be content with his consulting gig with nhra. Hard to figure out what nhra is up to, except the execs seem intent on protecting their fat salaries - even if they have to fire all the staff that actually runs the show. I did hear that Wesley is back.
