Just posing some possible revisions here:
1.) Expand the Factory Showdown to qualify 16 cars. 2.) If you signed up for Factory Showdown FS/XX and didn't make the field of 16, your weekend is over. FS/XX cars should not be demoted to the top of the Stock Eliminator ladder, especially if protected from HP penalty. OR 3.) If FS/XX cars are allowed to be thrown into Stock, their index should be whatever the BUMP of the FS/XX qualified field was. |

The announcer on Thursday morning said the DA was -2190 feet. Has anyone confirmed that number? We were freezing up in the aluminum stands. They made for great heat sinks on the butt. It seemed most guys were holding back as a lot of cars were running -.97 to -.99 seconds under.
I got to talk to a few of the Mopar racers. Thanks to Dyno Dan Zrust for his hospitality.

Tomorrow I will live stream Stock and Super Stock at the scales. I know it does not sound exciting, but I think some might find in interesting to see the winners after the race getting scaled and fuel checked. We all see the pro's after the runs, but we never get to see Sportsman racers.
I was struck by two things today. After my first round in Stock I went up to watch Super Stock. It was about 10:30, and it was sportsman only racing, the pros were many hours away. Now I know when you look at the photos the stands were not packed, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a good amount of fans watching Super Stock. The next thing that struck me was the Pro Mods. Now I know many of you probably are not interested in Pro Mod, but the stands were packed when they ran. I sat through a session, and I will have to say it was some of the most fun I have had in a long time watching a non sportsman class. These cars are cool, with so much diversity in engine combos and body types. Turbo cars, Nitrous Cars and Supercharged. These cars run 5.80's at over 250. Lots of fun, much more so than the traditional pros. Here are some more photos.... |

If you take the average qualifying numbers from the 9 shoot out cars that went into the stock field was 1.40 under, and with the AHFS rules they should have a index reduction of -.35 Tuesday. These cars will be just as fast et and mph just not as far under the index. Ask the guys that will get a hit hp what they think. This is no different from comps cic system. Tom
