Yup......and it makes that on a bad day!!!
We're selling it though, want to build the 428 Windsor Combo, can't believe it will make over 880hp with the" new improved" pieces for 2014. Ford is releasing the info at SEMA this week, so keep an eye out for the news. Hope to get some power knocked off so we can be competitive with the Copo's and the new Dodge's. It needs about 35 hp taken off. But it nots a Chevrolet so might be for naught. Maybe get ole Greg Hill to give us some pointers LOL. RJ |

I guess I missed it. When did someone get 35hp off?

The 1970 LT1 like I run was rated at 360 hp from the factory, but is rated 325 now, as it has been for many, many years. I don't think anyone in their right mind would consider building one at 360.
I want to know how to get smaller rod journals, a bigger carburetor, and Edelbrock heads legalized for my combo, or is that just ok for Fords?

Its just a guess you understand.....but I think it was the 1970 350/360 hp Camaro Combo that somehow got a 35 hp reduction at the beginning of 2003. I believe it is now a whopping 325 hp. How many times have you seen that happen?? Makes you wonder! LOL RJ |

Andrew, you got a 780 Holley which will flow more than a 1000 cfm throttle body. A 1000 cfm has 750 holes in the bottom. Looking at the specs on your motor, makes mine look like the truck motor it is derived froml 11 to one, same roller rockers I got, same cam, choice of 8 heads, some new manifold that nobody knows about, big carb (whichcfm for cfm will make more power-according to the manifold makers) and 325, all the 350's in 70 and 71 are suspect. If I had that I could run 9.70s and RJ could run 9.60's cause he is a better tuner. I guess you guys are in your right mind. I had a 35 Hudson Teraplane fastback with a V12 Hemi that got 10 off, and Sammy P. has gotten about 200 off that 427 thing he runs. RJ, nobody likes us old guys. I'm gonna complain to the AARP.

From: Kershaw, Jesse (JM.) (jkershaw@ford.com) This sender is in your contact list.
Sent: Wed 10/30/13 2:46 PM To: 'Sam Tufano' (sam_tufano@hotmail.com) I’m not sure what RJ is talking about. We aren’t releasing anything. We are working on a new 429 for the 2014 model that has different heads but they would not be backwards compatible.

Still 5 more than that 390 with all the aftermarket parts. It's also the second highest rated carbureted small block in the guide (behind the same motor in the Corvette, 5 hp more).
