I would think that going down the track without signing the waiver is a big deal to the NHRA (and their insurance carrier). Any idea how a trooper would react to you going down the highway without insurance?

How about, just toss out the Thursday runs and see you for class Friday morning for the DQ guy???

BTW, if you happen to see Jim Zane walking around today, wish him a happy 70th birthday!!!

I think the NHRA should have a "New Guy" service. I know that it was very confusing for me at my first National. But, I am also the guy that forgets to stop at the scales sometimes......

Cool Re: Live from the NHRA Summernationals @Raceway Park-English

Good morning gang - Its day two with plenty of excitement in store for this morning .Although its overcast the conditions are pretty much the same as yesterday except the barometer is a tad lower so yes, fast conditions are going to be with us during Stock class eliminations for sure .

Seems we have two types of folks watching the events - those who like 'new' cars / Shootout cars and those who like vintage iron .It really doesn't matter which you like as both sides will have plenty to watch and enjoy .

Track dryers are doing their magic as I type to ensure a great racing surface as it was yesterday .We are to start in about an hour and there are already lines to get in .The slight rain / mist we had around 6am didn't seem to slow things up one bit .All that and later today the Sun is scheduled to reappear and warm things up.

Back after the last Stock quaifier .............

you should do all of the paperwork at the time you pay.
I am surprised that we don't have to carry our own insurance anyway.

Every time I think to give NHRA Nationals a chance, I read BS stories like this. What difference does it make if you did credentials before the end of Qualifying. I am sure I will read lame excuses why they screwed the racer "That is the rules". That's why I will stick with Divisionals until they poke the Bear...

Enjoy!

I have a question, I am new this year also. I sent in my notorized signature paper to them, is there something else you need to do besides that for a national event? I thought you had to do that before you could even enter a national event. I have gotten 3 grade points this year so far, don't want to spin this thread off but it brings up something new since it happened there. Thanks!

You still have to pass tech before and sign the waiver to get your credentials.

Controlled insurance, i.e., another revenue stream
