Re: 69 Camaro B/S
I really wanted the bars running through the dash. They didn't fall exactly where I wanted but close enough.
After spending some time looking the cage over there are definitely some things i'm not happy about..... My final assessment, he could've have built a super nice cage but due to rushing built a decent cage. Hopefully get it painted this weekend. [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
I am going to ask a very dumb question ....maybe but removing the middle of the cross member... is that allowed in stock? I thought it was just Super Stock

Been legal in Stock for 3 or 4 years now. I believe under oil pan it reads... Cross member may be altered for oil pan removal but all removed material must be boxed, or replaced with permanent or removable material. One thing about my build is I set out to take advantage of every new rule! I've got some flack about the front bars. That's only a year or two, under firewall. |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Thanks for the update. It looks like it is going to be a very nice piece. Looking forward to get a gaze at it when it is done.

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Progress has been slow but I did manage to get the cage painted this weekend.

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Big day!!!!!!
[IMG][/IMG] Well.........almost Ran into 2 problems.. 1st motor mounts. Not sure if the subframe got tweaked or the re pop frame mounts are off. Tried to shim the motor mounts but still fell about half a hole short. Hopefully a little grinding on the driver side frame mount will fix this. 2nd Drag link/oil pan clearance Not sure if its a truck or corvette pan but the drag link is hitting on the corners. Is this a common problem? [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: 69 Camaro B/S
Small block frame brackets and motor mounts will move the engine back about 3/4". -Al
