Why is there a stigma when it comes to cheating with a delay device or counter, yet undercover porting stocker heads is considered acceptable? Heck, there is a guy who posted on this specific thread who's car owner has openly told me about his cars ported heads.

Without opening the debate about ported heads.....

The simple answer is ported heads only truly affects your opponent in a heads up run, as any other time is just a shoe polish race.

HOWEVER........ a delay box, counter, down track timer, etc............is cheating against every competitor you stage against.

I have never understood why some people are so obsessed with cheating rather than following the rules. I've seen it for all my business life and have never understood what is gained by it. How could a person have any sense of self satisfaction about winning when they don't follow the rules and are cheaters? I bet there is some deep seeded, twisted psychological reason!

They are like a thief, some people can do bad things without feeling guilt.

Adger I think that cheating is fueled by cheating, lets say your combo is fast you feel you have the best stuff and have worked hard on it. Then mike comes along and blows you in the weeds, you don't know what to do to catch up, but you heard that he has a trick carb that's not as stock as yours. What do you do ?Now you get one and bam your back in the hunt. I WILL BET YOU KEEP THE CARB/S ON EVEN IF YOU FEEL THEY ARE NOT QUIT IN THE SPIRT OF THE RULES. Hence a cheater.
